PerTronix Flame-Thrower "Race Only" HEI Distributors

PerTronix has developed a new "race only" HEI distributor for Chevy, Olds, and Pontiac engines. The housing is machined from A384 aluminum alloy and is fitted with sintered bronze bushings that are aligned bored. The shaft is centerless ground and the rotor balanced for reliable, vibration-free high RPM use. The high dielectric strength cap comes with brass terminals. The specially designed 7.2 amp module and 50,000 volt coil produce 42% more energy in the coil with a 46% faster spark breakdown time allowing 48% more peak current to reach the spark plugs between 6000 and 8500 RPM compared to the PerTronix street/strip HEI. The distributor has a vacuum advance lockout and the centrifugal advance mechanism is welded to the distributor shaft for maximum reliability.

These distributors are recommended for race applications only and not for street use. They do not have an EO number. If used with roller camshaft, consult the cam manufacturer for drive gear requirements.
