William Carragan is a master harpsichordist and arranger. He is also known for research in both baroque chamber music and nineteenth century symphonic literature. He is contributing editor of the Anton Bruckner Collected Edition, in Vienna for which he prepared a new edition of the Bruckner Second Symphony. From 1979 to 1983 he devoted himself to the completion of the Bruckner Ninth Symphony. Carragan has recently completed arrangements of a Vivaldi four-violin concerto for four harpsichords and a Vivaldi two-violin concerto for two harpsichords. These arrangements received their premiers in a concert at the historic Norfolk Library, Norfolk, CT, on May 30, 2009, in which he was one of the performers. He has performed as both a harpsichordist and pianist throughout the Northeast both as a soloist and in ensembles. We received a commission from Mr. Carragan to design and build a unique two manual harpsichord with flared registers, 2 x 8', 1 x 4', GG-e''' with Nasalzug and buff stops. This instrument was exhibited at the 2003 Boston Early Music Festival where Carragan played a room concert to a standing-room-only audience.
